Enhance security with an automatic vehicle inspection system

The system includes an under vehicle scanner consisting of one or several IP line-scanning cameras. The scanner inspects the underside of the moving vehicle before sending the high-resolution images to a computer boasting special evaluation software and a SQL database. Illegal or suspicious items (bombs, weapons, drugs, contraband, etc.) are visible on the monitor/image and further data is processed in a clear and coherent way. Operating staff (security professionals, etc.) use the relevant information to ensure delivery of appropriate procedures.

The under vehicle inspection system is available in either a mobile or static configuration. Special versions are also available for military purposes or prisons. All the IP scanner cameras are supported by a special, patented infrared illumination unit. Depending on the installation location, the mobile UVIS (under vehicle inspection system) can be set up in a matter of minutes. The static version of Auto²Scan is installed on the road surface and the corresponding infrastructure, incl. cameras, control system, computer and software, is deployed permanently. The under vehicle inspection (cars, trucks, etc.) can be carried out at throughput speeds of up to 40 km/h. The UVIS is suitable for a wide range of vehicles of any length, including motorbikes, special vehicles, cars, and trucks with and without trailers.

According to the individual wishes of the client, we can tailor Auto²Scan to local conditions. Systems with two scanners, for example, can be implemented at prison entrances. As the images captured by the under vehicle inspection system are saved and archived, it is possible to compare scans with previous under vehicle images of the same vehicle. A true-to-scale image of the vehicle underside can be viewed using a zoom function, thus ensuring that even very small foreign objects (up to 5 mm) or quality issues can be detected.

To guarantee identification of both the vehicle and the driver, Auto²Scan can utilize a further IP camera to automatically recognize the registration number (number plate) and to photograph the driver of the respective vehicle.
